LBJA School

LBJA BANNER

The Leo Bernstein Jewish Academy of Fine Arts, now in its third year, is an innovative Jewish Day School in Silver Spring. We offer small classes, and a unique specialized Art, Music and Science program. We have devoted and creative teachers and an exciting curriculum that allows a child’s imagination and love of learning to flourish. Our school prides itself in being one of a few of its kind in the country. Our unique program combines the Arts with an excellent education in both Secular and Judaic subjects. Our Hebrew curriculum is taught as Hebrew immersion, Ivrit B’ Ivrit.

NEW BUILDING PROJECT

Building an addition to our synagogue in Silver Spring is a very ambitious project, loaded with emotions and feelings. We add the fact that we are talking about an orthodox synagogue, we can certainly say that the project is making history. The Silver Spring Jewish Center was born 50 years ago, offering a new way of understanding and living Judaism. An open vision, involved in the society, with a special emphasis on the youth. We are proud of our youth movement. LBJA promotes our future, and we have always focused our hopes on our exceptional educational programs.

New SSJC Web Homepage

Our new headquarters will encompass a space for religious, cultural, social, educational and Zionist activities. This is an open door and a  reference for the development of traditional Judaism in Silver Spring, Maryland. Obviously with our growth, the space became smaller, representing a limitation to the development of the wide range of activities we have planned. Today, with the opening of a new Jewish Center wing, we have made a major leap that marks a new phase in the Jewish life in the nation’s Capitol.

Our area truly represents the Jewish Community of Greater Washington.

Most importantly, the LBJA is not just a school. It is a community of learners with real heart. We teach and model Jewish values such as tzedakah, kindness, respect and love for parents, teachers, the Jewish people and Eretz Yisrael. Our nurturing faculty love to teach children and it shows in everything we do. If you would like to learn more about this unique educational experience, call us at (301) 592-8433. We would love to discuss with you the great benefits of an LBJA education.
